Sophia Minnaert ’05 Up Front and on the Sidelines

Sophia Minnaert is the sideline reporter

Followers of Milwaukee Brewers baseball and Milwaukee Bucks basketball broadcasts are familiar with seeing her sideline reports for Fox Sports Wisconsin. Edgewood alumna Sophia Minnaert ’05. daughter of EHS head football coach/religious studies and physical education teacher Al Minnaert, graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee with degrees in journalism, literature, and Spanish in 2009.

She was recently profiled in a Madison Catholic Herald article that recounts her progress from intern with the newspaper to working on broadcasts of WIAA sports to landing a position with Fox Sports. In a quote from the Catholic Herald story, Sophia says the most important part of her job is "dealing with a lot of different people, personalities, situations. Just trying to go about your job the right way [and] being ethical and being a good person. I think that's just that biggest thing in how you go about your daily life."
