On Sunday, January 18, Edgewood High School once again hosted the Urban League of Greater Madison as they celebrated the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at an Outstanding Young Person Breakfast for more than 900 youth, families, and community leaders from schools all across Dane County.

This year, Edgewood High School is proud to have 11 students receive Outstanding Young Person Awards based on their academic performance, community service, and extra-curricular participation: Phillip Joo Young Ahn, Carmen Cruz, Joshua Duffek, Pax Habimana, Carlen Krieghoff, Maetraclare Maaneb de Macedo, Menatu Maaneb de Macedo, Anastasie Ndahayo, Landry Ndahayo, Lauren Tatus and Madison Thompson.

In addition to his nomination for the Outstanding Young Person Award, senior Landry Ndahayo was one of only three Dane County students to receive the 2015 Betty Franklin Hammonds Scholarship.
